- A daughter, a sister, a wife, a mother, a grandmother, a friend, an artist....HEY I'm an ARTIST. For years I have played with color, first with crayons, then ceramics, next came tole painting and finally ventured into oils. In the 80's I studied with a couple of artist in South Texas, but was busy with my family and what would turn out to be a career so never was very serious about my art. After my husband's death I started taking oil painting lessons to fill a void in my life. And now after retiring from 22 years of service with a gas marketing company, I have returned to the land of ART.

I agree that it is inborn for some of us. There are others who don't get it even after a child is born. For instance ... well, maybe I'd better not go there.
